#Coachella2019 + I'm Back!

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged, almost 2 years to be exact. I have gone through many transitions since then, the biggest being my move to the west coast. I moved to Los Angeles in Fall of 2018 to pursue a master’s degree at USC. My experience in Los Angeles has been nothing less than transformative. But, I didn’t come on here to talk about my growth and adventures (yet). I know what everyone wants to know—how was Coachella!?

Well, let’s start with the festival. Despite all the dust and walking, I had an amazing time! The vibe was fun, the style inspiration was amazing, the music was awesome. It was quite an experience! Will I go back? Definitely, but I need a VIP experience! I have never been one for music festivals or anything that’s held outside past a rooftop situation or a beach. And let me tell you, Coachella is deeeeep in a valley in the desert with the strongest sunlight and the roughest winds. But it was totally worth it. And yes, I saw Ariana Grande get hit with the lemon and slip. One of my highlights from Coachella was her comment afterwards, “y’all are throwing lemons at me, shit!”

My favorite performance that I saw would hands down be The 1975. I had never heard of them before Friday night, but we walked up to their set and I instantly felt an amazing vibe! Such good music! I have had “Somebody Else” and “Love It If We Made It” on repeat ever since. I loved Janelle Monae! The going joke in my group is “Electric Lady” is the song that describes our trip. We listened to it everyday after seeing her perform on Friday. More of my faves were Childish Gambino, Wiz Khalifa, H.E.R., Zedd, and of course Ariana Grande!

I could not blog without talking about Kanye West’s Sunday Service. As a Christian, I was very convicted not being in church on Easter Sunday. Did his performance make me feel better? No. But it’s definitely a very wonderful thing that he is doing for those who have not experienced the power of spiritual music. And that’s all I have to say about Mr. West + Co.

Now, on too what’s actually important: MY LOOKS.

I decided to embody the three style trends that describe me: streetwear, bohemian, and preppy.
