Living My Best South Beach Life

Independence Day in America is about greasy food, fireworks, and family. But for me it was about endless cocktails, rooftops overlooking the ocean, and stylish outfits. I can say I was living my best life!

For fourth of July, I traveled to Miami with a couple of friends to enjoy the camaraderie with my fellow Americans down on South Beach. It was a blast and I’m going to give you the rundown of my fave places and my best looks!

Where I stayed:

I stayed at the 1818 Meridian House in a two-bedroom condo. It was chic, great location (not too close but not to far from the strip) and very affordable. However, it was not the cleanest and did not have great service. However, it did have two bedrooms, a beautiful kitchen and living room and nice grounds. I ended up switching hotels at the end of my trip and staying at The Whitelaw Hotel, which has an happy hour of free drinks from 7-8 PM every night. If that’s not an incentive, than I don’t know what is.

Where I ate:

Mr. Chow at W South Beach

Every time I go on vacation I have to have one fabulous experience at an upscale restaurant. This time it was Mr. Chow and it was spectacular! As we walked in for our 9:30 reservation, the room suddenly went quiet and all you could hear was the chopping of a knife, shifting of food, and then an uproar of clapping. Confused and a little nervous, I didn’t know if we just witnessed a undercover signal from the Mafia or if we walked into a hibachi grill. But no, it was just a once in a lifetime presentation from Mr. Chow himself! Chic right. Pictures below!

Big Pink

For me, breakfast on vacation is always brunch. And this brunch was amazing. Big Pink is literally that, a big pink building with delicious options like chicken and waffles, french toast, and eggs benedict. It also has a full bar, so if you are feeling like sipping a margarita with your pancake, go right ahead!

Voodoo Rooftop Lounge and Hookah

Right on Ocean Drive sits Voodoo Rooftop Lounge and Hookah, with the best popcorn chicken I have ever tasted a day in my life. It’s very rare that you find a restaurant with good food on Ocean. Usually it’s just drunk food that they sell to you because you are normally drunk off those huge fish bowls. Voodoo is different. Oh and did I mention it has a rooftop? I spent my fourth of July watching fireworks and sipping a voodoo hurricane on top of their grass lined rooftop, dancing the night away.

What I wore:
